Wonderful lighting, beautiful textures, and strong composition. How do you do it? I mean it? How do you get such wonderful texture on the skin?

Thank you very much. All i really did was to use a hard light.

Your welcome. A hard light did that? I figured a hard light would wash the features. How did you place it for it to be like that?

It's a hard light, with only a dish, coming from the back left side, and giving these hard shadows too

Were you using digital or film? Would that make a difference as well?

I know mostly film, which is why I ask.

I'm envious. The digital cameras I've seen out are so nice, but well out of price range... I've got a little one and I'm trying to do some serious photos with it, any suggestions on how to get the most out of it?

I realy think you could find a digital camera on a low budget these days that will give you the freedom of photographing without spending mony on film, developing and printing or scanning ... this is one of the greatest advantages of digital photography - freedom to create.
all the tips I can give you will be on photography in general, and will apply on film too, but I think the best way to start is to take a shot course and see if you get addicted to it first :)
